    Question about location of clinicals...

    Advertisements

I was just wondering about after St. Vincent's, what my chances are of doing the clinicals somewhere in NY? I really, really wanna be close to home, and NY would be perfect (I dont even care where in NY I am). I know there are alot of affiliated hospitals in NY, so do you guys think it would be a problem to get placed there?

Majority of SGU's "clinical centers" are in NYC, so you should have no problems stay in NYC...

Now, having just seen Brooklyn, it's a culture shock for us "rural Californians" =)

    ny

Brooklyn would be perfect for me, but Im not being picky (anywhere in NY would be awesome). Close enough to manhattan to drive there when u wanna see the greatest city in the world, but far enough away to avoid the traffic

dont get yourselves too worked up about where you go for clinicals. all the folks i talked to in the upper terms really had no complaints in the end. when dr. w was here in vinnies he said that they may be thinking of cutting out hospital selection and just select by state and they will place you wherever. i havent dont any clinicals yet stateside but i have lots of friends who have and this is what i got from them. some hospitals are more hands on and others are more academic.

i wouldnt know which one is better. i havent reach that stage yet.
but i would assume that in bklyn you would see more actions esp if you are in the ER compared to jamaica hospital. nothing against you blkyn ppl out there, so if i offended anyone i apologize.
