    ISO sport MP3 player

    Advertisements

I have an ipod but since ALL my music is on it I dont want to take it to the gym, beach, or use it for running etc...for fear of HD crash. I tried to order one on amazon along with some extra books (chung) but they do not deliver electronics outside of the US. any ideas? will some sites ship outside of the US? is there a place that sells them on the island, good quality players at fair prices? I kind of had my heart set on the creative 256MB sport player, not too big, not too small, under $100 and water resistant with expandable memory capacity. any expert advise would be greatly appreciated...

    http://www.myskymail.us/grenada/grenadaSTGU.asp

My SkyMail gives you an address in Miami to send stuff to, and then they re-ship it down to Grenada. $15-per semester for the box, plus shipping fees/customs fees.

No experience with this company, so not a recommendation, just know it exists as an option.

    Money to burn?

I would not advise you to order any electronics by mail unless you have money to burn.

It's not worth it. Customs will charge an arm and a leg. With the receipt and price of the items included in such an order, you will definitely pay a large toll.

I maybe the exception to the rule, but when I ordered Chung my first term (2003-fall), my roommate and I didn't get it until late that term. Literally, 3 months into anatomy. Yes, we ordered from Amazon, but again we might be an exception to the rule. We also had to pay I believe a 30ec fee for those books. Imagine if you added electronics to that.

If anyone experiences differently, please share, but this is mine.

There is a bookstore where you can purchase the BRS books on campus. I suggest that route for you. I think it's near the mailroom, unless things have changed post-IVAN. The only negative is that the paper material they use seems to make the books thicker. The ones bought in the state are thinner. Portability factor, but price-wise and time-wise...buy it on the island.

As for MP3 players... everyone's using their IPODs, so I would stick to that one until you get back to the states to purchase another.

    mp3

With the price of customs and stuff, you might as well book yourself a flight to Barbados, Margarita or another more civilized island and get one while your there.
Bring lotsa mcdonalds cheeseburgers back and sell them to students to make back the costs of the trip.

Can I reserve 1... or 200? :-) Did you hear the one about the SGU students that went to Magarita, just to bring back 200 McD's burgers? Probably just another SGU urban legend, i.e. rumor. :-)

    re: my skymail BAD

    Hey all,

definitely don't use my skymail ........ Snitzle can attest to this - he paid an arm and a leg to get his stuff from them in first term.

    Cheers,

I dont know about 200 burgers, they would weigh a total of 50 pounds leaving you with no more room for anything else, but ive heard that rumor too... they'd probably be cold, but it couldnt be any worse than me bringing back sushi (customs didnt care either) plus there are far better ways to make money bootlegging goods.

thanks for the responses, looks like I am not going to be ordering a MP3 player anytime soon, although I already ordered the review books so hopefully they come in time for finals...haha. I might have somone bring a mp3 player down for me in a few weeks, hopefully they wont be too pillaged by customs officials...
