Do we need to bring any anti-malaria pills? Or are the mosquitoes there plasmodium-free?

sgu will give you literature on the things you'll need to bring. There is no malaria on the island.

No malaria to worry about but dengue fever is something that has happened to a few of my classmates. Not trying to scare anyone or anything just letting you know the truth. But the numbers were few (less than 5).

The mosquitoes in the island are not good vectors of malaria. Malaria has been eradicated for a while. The few cases after eradication have been imported from travelers. You'll learn all about it in parasit

hockeypuck. While a real issue, every sgu student with the sniffles get's the "yeah. i had dengue. Was rough" pose of a 15 year old boy trying to impress the cheerleader. I thow down the gauntlet: all you dengue sufferers: lets see your titers.
