1st termers: Grand Anse or Hotel, where are u staying?

    Advertisements

As posted by another user on here and stated by Amanda Ryan, first termers will be staying at either Grand Anse or the hotels. (NOT true blue).

Bayshore will be sending out "surveys" regarding 1st termers' preference for either the hotel(s) or Grand Anse. So I'm just running a poll to see where ppl would rather go. What do the upperclassmen recommend?

Actually, I believe you are incorrect. I spoke with the associate dean in Grenada last week when I went to visit and he said that True Blue Bay is still an option.

i think he meant that the True Blue Campus was not an option True Blue Bay, while in True Blue, is a resort off campus. Last I heard through the rumormill was that Grand Beach was the 1st option for 1st termers , but that True Blue Bay and the hotel being built across the street were options as well if needed.

True Blue or not True Blue?

Kingkong575 is ABSOLUTELY right. After reading that I immediately called Amanda Ryan from work, and she stated that this past Friday the Chancellor stated that 1st termers will be housed on Grand Anse or one of two hotels in Grand Anse (all of which are equidistant to the main campus), an upper-classmen who lost their old apartments will now be housed on True Blue. 1st termers will be receiving a new housing request form in the mail shortly. That was the extent of her knowledge, simply because housing just received this info on Friday. I'll keep you all posted if I hear anything else.

    3 choices

I just talked to Amanda Ryan as well. The three choices are Grand Anse, Allmananda resort, or Grand Anse Beach resort. She said that for the hotels they would be bringing in an extra desk because there is only one as of right now. Also, fridges would be provided in the hotels. Shuttles will run every 20 minutes. I am so confused and have no idea what to pick! Any advice from anyone?

    Grand Anse

From what Ive heard Grand Anse is going to be a pet dorm, and most newbies are going to initially be in hotels (some newbies will be on campus).

Allamanda is right next door to the Grand Anse campus (they have a great restaurant and spa facilities- that gives discounts to students - US$40 for an hour massage!!), the Grand Beach is just around the corner- they have a fabulous pool and a 9 hole golf course. The food fair grocery store is right across the street.
Not bad choices, rooms at the grand beach are pretty decently sized. Down side of course no kitche facilities, but as DrNick posted on another thread, get a frig and a couple of hot plates and you should be ok.
