i've become increasingly interested at the prospect of getting into the field of heme-onc. is this a hard fellowship to get into after internal med? any alumni headed this way? is it highly competitive? which of the hospitals would be a better hospital to rotate at for heme-onc? ny? nj? why is the sky blue?

i believe its because of the reflection of the ocean water. correct me if i am worng...now can someone else help restless with the other questions? :D

I thought the sky was blue because blue light (which has the shortest wavelength) is the one that scatters the most when it hits nitrogen and oxygen. Violet has a shorter wavelength, but our eyes are more sensitive to blue light. And the ocean is blue because it reflects the sky. Hm... :wink:

Ok, I tried researching the heme/onco topic on the web, and it seems like everyone who's interested in it, is going into peds as well... is that what you're thinking of doing? So you'd do two years of peds, and two years of heme/onco?
I would imagine the fellowship wouldn't be hard to obtain, if you're going into peds as well -- I emailed a doc I know at UCLA (you got me wondering!)... and he said that it's not usually a problem. As for which places are the best, he said he'd get back to me on that one. :?
