    Rotations in the UK

    Advertisements

Hey guys, I've just read that SGU got accredited by GMC , Does it mean that students can now do both of their cores and electives in the uk?
Also does sgu take transfer students who have written step into their clinical program? Any details would help!

I am current student so perhaps I can chime in. I know that students can complete their cores in the UK, but I am not sure about electives. Since most students intend to complete their last two years in the United States, UK rotations are not something that come up in conversation too much. As to your last question, one of the requirements to graduate is having studied at SGU for at least 3 years. Therefore, it seems like transfers after the USMLE Step 1 following year 2 would not be permitted.

Thanks for replying! People barley reply on here, i asked because i want to have a career in the UK rather than the united states, so like write plab and everything after doing rotations there, idk how SGU's curriculum but one of my friends goes there and she was like her advisor told her that she can either go the UK way and write plab and do rotations there or the US way or she can do both and write both step and plab so i was wondering if anyone knew more about this? just wanted some feedback. Oh i didnt know about the transfer thing :S Are you sure about the 3 years thing?
