    Best apartment locations near campus

    Advertisements

    Hello All,

I am startingin Jan 05 and just realized that I will likely be dorming with someone for the first term. For the 3000 dollars I have to pay for a one term double I would rather look for a single for half that near campus.

Am I dreaming? I am willing to pay one thousand per semester for a studio near the campus. What do you get for money off campus?

    not going to happen

$1000 per semester will probably not happen anywhere near the campus. I am paying 750/mo for a one bedroom (okay, a glorified studio) that is in true blue. I would say, that if you want to live in True Blue, you will be hard pressed to find anything less than 500/mo, if even that cheap. If anyone knows of anything though, please post it

    I think you'll need to spend $2000

I'm paying $500/mo for a 1 bedroom in LAE- that's the best I could find. I've heard you can pay as little as $400 in some places, but they aren't very comfortable.

    ...

I also pay $500/month for my "glorified studio" in True Blue, on the hill above the boatyard & Cool Runnings. My place is small, but it's nice, clean, the landlord's really cool, and it has a great view overlooking the bay and the school! The cheapest place I ever found was $325/month, but it was in a grungy part of town, close to a place called "Fish & Chicks" where the hookers and drug dealers hang out.

You can find places in True Blue close to school for ~$500 or so; I wouldn't recommend living in LAE first term as it's a little far from campus and you might feel sort of isolated. My landlord has a two-bedroom place available in my building, I believe, for $700/month. If you could find a roommate, that would only be $350 each!

    Good luck!
