    Interview Essay

Hi! I've heard that St. George's asks interviewees to write an essay before the actual interview. Does anyone remember what their essay topics have been? Thanks! =)

Looking back at the old posts in this thread makes me miss what used to be around these parts. I guess the noobs learned to google.

haha its not a book report, just an admission essay. There is no word count, just write what you can in the time given.

I found this thread very helpful as I get ready for my interview. I basically just review several times my personal statement. Wish me luck, my interview is later today with a SGU MD/graduate who happens to practice medicine where I live.

And will do my best during my admission essay. If anything changed, I'll back here and comment. Thank you all for your help!

    Awesome interview

I Just had a great interview, it started out a little rough, but then I calmed my nerves. I have a lot of clinical experience, so he asked about that. Also asked me about why medicine, about island life, how would I pay for college, and if I knew 100% what I was getting into. I met the Dr at this office/private office. He was very cordial and well spoken. He put me at ease but his questions for direct, and I feel he had my best interest at heart.

Here are some of the written essay questions: I pretty much stuck to my personal statement.

    1) Describe and influencial person in your life

    2) Decribe 3 important characteristics for a physician and how you think they will help you in the pursuit of your career?

    3) Describe the influential moment in your life when you decided to become a doctor?

If you're dealing with an interview essay, the very first thing you should think about is that you know what exactly you have to include in your writing. The person who will be interviewing you has to understand that you have the necessary skillset, personal qualities, experience, knowledge and career plans for the position you're applying to. It's essential to convince the interviewer that you're competent enough for the offered job and explain why you see yourself in the chosen sphere.
