Dr B eating his own words

    Advertisements

Did anyone catch how DR. B dogged the famed pathologist Dr S from Africa?

He said his review sessions caused people to flunk path.

Later he said, the BSFFR sessions were modeled after the very useful review sessions people would go to. Students would even skip regular lectures and just attend these review sessions.

Those review sessions were Dr S. And if you ever listened to them you would know that it was just a bunch of vignettes that Dr S made up on the spot.

Dr B still can't get over how Dr S with his thick accent was still able to out teach him. The difference is that Dr S really geniunely cared about the students. Dr B is just trying to cover his behind and pad his wallet.

Someone made the point later that Dr. S was why students PASSED path, not failed it.

    I definitely 2nd that!

Dr.S was one of the tutors when I was 4th term and his review sessions were fantastic!! We had, what? 290 people in 4th and I would safely say that easily half the class would be at his review session....

and he is proof positive that you can have an accent (boy and how! took me a couple of weeks to get used to it!) and if you have something of value to say, it will be understood...

he left for residency even before the end of my term and is an attending now, but I'm sure that the students that had the chance to have him as their resident learn so much.

and no one flunked path my term (though a number deceled...)Dr. S was definitely NOT the reason they deceled...

In his spare time, I hear that Dr. B gives tutoring in how to be arrogant and unprofessional.

    One example:

"That must come from the Journal of Unsubstantiated Facts"

"um...its on page 492 in Robbins."

    Funny you mention that.

It just reminds me of what he was doing during our open forum session. He would refer us back to the syllabus stating that it was plainly stated.

The guy should have been a lawyer.

Each term though he keeps adding to the agreement packet that all students must sign in order to enter his path class.

The thing is as thick as a mortgage agreement and it's printed on both sides.

Dr B clearly has issues and teaches path like he runs his course. He refers you back to the small print. It's evident there's a probably buddy, look at the 250+ people meeting at Bell Hall. I don't think they are there to praise you. Obbviously there's a problem. Did he actually think people were going to say, geez you're right Dr B we should have just read our syllabus?
