every month i get calls from graduates of sgu and they tell me they are already md's? is this true would they be wasting their time trying to convince people to apply?

    What up brother.
Did you submit your paperwork to sgu? or are they just randomly calling you? it's possible that you were put on a list because you had a question about the school or something so these guys call you up to find out if your question was answered. SGU graduates (MD's) do the interviews for the school so the people on the phone are probably not lying to you and are MD's however they can be MD's that didn't get a match or have just graduated SGU. Only way to really tell if they're MD's is to get their full names and what state they're practicing and call up the state's medical licensing bureau and ask them if that person has a medical license.

Of course this is true! Also, are they really convincing you to apply? I received several calls from the reps and they offered me help with my application and answered my questions about the school. I found this to be very helpful!

ok well that's how they got your number... it can be annoying at times, when i was applying to medical school I got accepted into Ross and the dean of admissions would keep calling me every couple of weeks and would say that they still haven't gotten my deposit, and i would tell him that i wasn't going to Ross but he would still call to bug me, it go to so bad that i had to tell him off and tell him never to call me again. These representatives can act like pushy salesmen sometimes.

I would bet my money that they really are MD's. They are probably students that just recently graduated or alumni that just want to give back in some way to the school by making phone calls one night a month or something like that. If they've recently graduated they probably aren't licensed yet since most people take the third step of the USMLE around the end of their first year of residency and even after that there is probably a delay to getting it updated in all the databases.

All I remember is getting a call from SGU about 30 minutes after I clicked on SUBMIT APPLICATION. That was weird.

Yeah they are real MDs, I've met a couple of them who came to a graduate fair at my undergrad university last year. One of them is a Canadian graduate who was waiting to enter the match once his visa stuff sorted out.
