    Chances at Admission

    Advertisements

Hi I was wondering if anyone could offer their opinion on my chances at acceptance to the MD program at St. Georges.

    Degree: B.A. History
    Northeastern University
    Cum: 3.30
    Science: 3.7
    MCAT:30

    Extra's
Historical Society - Campus Relations Chair
Pi Kappa Alpha - Scholarship Chair
    Orientation Leader

    Work:
Full Time Co-Op at Medical Law Firm
Worked full time/part time all through college

I know the focus on how you do in your last couple of semesters more than the first couple, unfortunately my last semester I did not do to well as 2 people who were very close to me passed away. Do you think this will negatively impact me ..and if so how much?

    Thanks in Advance,

    Bob

you will leave this forum immediately and apply to a us school and go there. Explain your personal circumstances. UMass in within your reach if youre a Mass state resident.

Before people start coming after you with torches and pitchforks for asking a "what are my chances thread," let me tell you this. SGU's average GPA and MCAT are 3.4 and 26, respectively. With that said you stand a very good chance of admission... if there are still seats open in the August class. Had you applied earlier your chances would've been better. There's always January's class, however.

    Hey
Thanks for the replies, I'm a New York State Resident, I think I could get mass residency but I've really had it with Boston/mass and want to get out of here..

I notice a lot of people are saying try a us school, I'm not sure where I would begin looking in ny or the us on a whole any suggestions?

I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong forum I just thought this would be the best place?

    Any other thoughts on SGU?

    Thanks again -
    Bob

SUNY Buffalo, beware of their interview....they throw a lot of crazy questions at you...SUNY Upstate, great school and low tuition

Albany Med is a great school too but remember, you're paying the second highest tuition in the country

If you're willing to leave the country, I'm thinking moving to a different state wouldn't be a problem. Apply everywhere. All over the US. Don't forget DO schools. Good luck!

If you apply to SGU then you would be stealing a spot from another person who needs an alternative. You don't.
