    Students with families

    Advertisements

I am starting in January 2007 and am bringing my husband and my baby who will turn 1 in January. Does anyone know who I should talk to regarding housing? I know there's the S/O's but is there anyone else? Since we will be living there for the next couple of years I would like to find a nice place to live. I was thinking about visiting Grenada a month or two before we actually move there but I'm not sure if this would be a good idea. Can anyone give me some advice?

The school will reimburse you for your trip later if you end up ultimately attending the school. My husband and I came in June before starting school in August and found a nice house. The SOs can definitely help you for sure.

    Good luck!

I'm in my second term in Grenada with my now 13-month-old son, and I'm happy to answer any questions you have.

As far as living, I'd recommend the Lance Aux Epines neighborhood. It is where most of the student families with children live, as well as much of the faculty. The housing might be a bit more expensive than elsewhere, but I find it's definitely worth it. I didn't come visit before my first semester, and that was fine. There always seems to be plenty of decent housing to go around, even at the beginning of the term. When I first came down, I'd verbally committed to a house (sight unseen) I was directed to by the Housing office, and it worked out just fine. I think if there are places you're considering (after speaking with landlords whose numbers are usually provided by the housing office) I'm sure students down here, including myself, would be happy to give you the low-down.

if you have any other questions - workload, housing, transportation, childcare, whatever - feel free to send me a private message on here.

Congrats on your acceptance, and I look forward to our kids playing together!

    Married Housing....

    Hi Everyone,

    I hope all is well.

Along similar lines but with a slightly different twist. I am going to be a first term student in January coming down with my fiance (no children). Currently we have married housing reserved on True Blue. Does anyone know anybody who has lived there and if so would they be willing to e-mail with myself or my lady?

Thank you in advance for any help.
