Just wondering why spartan is dot org and not edu?

NOt trying to make trouble, just wondering why their website isn't .edu. If they are est in 1980 and a school why wouldn't they register as a .edu.

This is one stupid question! Do you think anybody cares if the website is edu or org?

is it? if your in it for education then get the edu, not the org.... at least try and hide the fact you aren't trying to rip off the people.

The question is trivial and the point you attempted to make inaccurate.

    hey there,
I think I might be able to answer this question. The whole .edu was created around 1985 and spartan was created around 1980, which is before edu. However other domains like org is already created, so spartan used that. Org means (non-profit organization), so in some cases I think it's a good thing for spartan showing that the money made is used on the school. Spartan has the choice of changing to edu, but I guess they would rather keep the .org.

    I hope this helps

Actually, for a .org registration, anyone can register one for any reason. While .org was originally intended for not-for-profit organizations that slowly changed so that anyone can register one.
