SHSU graduates seeking licensure in UK will be considered by the Council

    Advertisements

*** We received a confirmation letter from the General Medical Council (GMC), UK stating that due to the recent changes of our basic medical science program implemented after January 2009, our graduates who are seeking licensure in UK will be considered by the Council. The applicants should present their primary medical qualification (PMQs) credentials issued by Spartan University to the GMC for consideration. This is not applicable to graduates, who started their studies before January, 2009. The letter states:***** .we will consider holders of PMQs issued by Spartan HSU who started their course of study during or after January 2009 on a case-by-case basis. In doing so, we will be seeking to be satisfied that they hold a PMQ that complies with all of the relevant GMC criteria. The PMQ must satisfy those criteria both at the point the holder graduated, and at the point at which they apply for registration. .

I am making this post sticky (for awhile) so the news does not get lost in the shuffle, so people who are interested can in practicing in the UK and are considering SHSU are aware of the update.

Does this mean that Spartan graduates are required to take the PLAB exam or are they exempt? from my understanding not everyone wishing to practice in the UK sits for the PLAB
