    Applying for May 10

    Advertisements

    Hey guys,

I'm about to apply for May 10 for Spartan. I have most of my application finished. I have a 2.5 Gpa, 2.8 prereq gpa and MCAT of 29M (11PS, 9VS, 9BS). I have a few questions about the application form:

    1. Did you all include your Social Security Number in the application? I'm very hesitant to send it out in the application form. However, I wouldn't worry after I'm enrolled.

    2. I have not asked any professors for letters or recommendation and May is approaching. I will send my application first and then send my LOR when I get them, but will my application be put on HOLD until the LOR are received? I want to start in May.

PS. NY approval has gotten my attention and I am very interested in Spartan Health Sciences. Hopefully I start in May.

If the form asks for your SS# then I would include it. I could not imagine a reason not to include this information. If you attend the University they will need it anyway. I have never seen a problem with the university and students private information, I would imagine all schools treat this information carefully.

This is honestly something you will have to ask the school. Their contact information can be found HERE.

NY was indeed great news. The new management has taken many steps in the right direction. If you have any more questions please feel free to post it or msg me. Good Luck!

I just had my second interview. I think it went okay. I regret one of my answers. He asked how ready are you for May? I said, that I'm 100% motivated, but I still worry about the difficulty because medical school is tough.

I tend to over worry about things and should have not said that. (To prepare myself I've taken Genetics, Immunology, Biochemistry, Microbiology....also I'm auditing bunch of medical relevant classes this quarter too......failed to mention it in my interview. )

    Now the waiting begins..........

I would actually think that is an honest answer and therefore nothing can be wrong with it. Being 100% motivated is great but if you were not worried or stressed at all I would wonder how honest your answers actually are. During all my medical school interviews I mentioned that I was worried about the difficulty. I really don't think you can go wrong when being honest.

Not that you have to - but I have always written thank you notes to anyone who interviewed me (whether it be for medical school, a job etc). If you feel you left something very important out or if you were asked a question that you did not know the answer this is a great way to show dedication - by supplying the answer in a written thank you letter. You could always mention how you are auditing classes as a method of preparation for medical school. Either way though I would not make any thank you letter to long or wordy. That said, some people thing things like this are a good idea (such as myself) while others tend to think otherwise.

I was accepted to May 2010 weeks ago, but it came to my attention recently when I got their welcome package in the mail. I opened the package to find that the deposit deadline has already passed. ***

I'll have to call them to ask for an extension.

Has this happen to anyone else? Why is the deadline so short?
