    loan program

    Advertisements

I have just talked to spartan admissions and they informed me that the private loan program is not working out. Does anyone else have any information or suggestions for financing education at spartan.

Your constant advertising of IUA suggests that all is not well at this institution!

It is a shame that carib schools are not being offered loans from the gov. (for US citizens) especially with all this free money going around. I think it is outrageous considering the growing shortage of MD's that is predicted.

I totally agree. Even if it's just for U.S. citizens/permanent residents. Off-shore med students are going to help fill the deficit of doctor's in this country over the coming years.

    Talking about physican shortages...

I did a quick google search and came up with these sites...

    http://www.aamc.org/workforce/workforcecharts.pdf

    http://www.aamc.org/workforce/rcntwrkfce.pdf

Eventhough I cant answer the loan question, these links might provide some insight into how grave the physician shortage situation could in the coming years.

you also have to ask are there even enough residency positions available to help fill this expanding demand.

Talking of enough residency positions - California and NY holds close to half of the entire residency spots in the US. And unless the school is approved by state boards, graduates cannot do residency in CA or NY - which means they are pretty much losing close to half of the overall chances of getting into a residency position.

So far, US medical schools have increased enrollments, but hospitals have not substantially increased their residency intakes. Thats not good news for FMGs.
I hate it when people make statments and dont provide links for readers to verify them !!! Hidden Content
