Transferring from SGU to a US vet school

I was wondering how to go about transferring from SGU to a US vet school? How long do you have to be at SGU till you can transfer?

I don't know how. Once you're there, you could speak with one of the Vet Dean's about how it's done. They'll know.

From what I saw, almost everyone transferred in the 2nd year (= 3rd or 4th term). Depending on how classes matched up, sometimes the subject matter (i.e. certain classes) had to be repeated. I knew of one person who transferred at the end of the 3rd year. I think there were a few people who transferred in the first year who had to start over. From SGU, most everyone I knew transferred to Kansas State, a couple to LSU, and one to Oklahoma State.

Don't get the impression that it is easy or that a boatload of students do this.

If you are looking to transfer to a US school, then you first need to contact the US school and get accepted. From there, you work with the Deans office to officially transfer. There is no promise that once you are in school, you will be accepted to transfer. And SGU will help you move your records but will not be helping you get into another school. They will help you find placement for fourth year clinical rotations.
The process on the SGU side has sounded pretty painless. I agree with the above post- most transfer in their second year, most have to repeat a semester, and this number is usually few per class.
