    Defer Admissions

    Advertisements

I was just wondering if anyone knew of anyone deferring admissions to St. George's Vet school for a year, if they couldn't go right now, does the admissions committee allow this and do they look down on this? Any info is appreciated! Thanks

Sorry...this forum sees little or no traffic.

I wish I had a good answer about deferment. When I was accepted I asked if I could defer for 6 months and they said no. I didn't really have that great of a reason and didn't pursue it though. Maybe you'll have better luck. It never hurts to ask.

I see no reason why it would be looked down upon. I think that the state schools do this too.

I will try to keep up on this forum.

Sorry for the delay, I don't check this much anymore ...

As far as your question about deferment ... The short answer is NO .... SGU does not actually defer admission. What they offer is the opportunity to move your application to another term. They will re-submit your application for the term you designate. If you were accepted initially, there is no gaurantee you will be accepted again. You will be weighed against the new applicant pool etc, you wont have to redo your interview and details like that tho ...

    theplatypusman is correct

We do not defer acceptance, but will resubmit your application for the following term, without charging you an additional application fee. We do not look upon this negatively, although I find unless students had a really good reason, many who postpone their acceptance never come. One semester turns into a year, one year turns into two and the more they put it off, the less likely they are of ever making it down.

Unless something is really holding you back, if you were accepted I say jump at the opportunity now.

Good luck with your decision. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

    re: August class

The August class is not filled up yet. Our final deadline to apply for the August term is not until June 15th, but the sooner you get your application in, the better your chances will be of gaining a seat into the August class.

If you have any questions regarding the application process, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Best wishes,
