No more EM electives at Maimonides

    Advertisements

Just thought I would let everyone know that Maimo is no longer accepting SGU students for their Emergency Medicine elective. I had tried to book a spot for June of this year. I spoke to Tina Marshall today and she confirmed this, after I was first given this info by the administrative assistant for the ED. No one would say why, except that it was a decision by the ED. They are still taking SGU students for all other electives, however.

It's not a huge loss - they rarely take SGU students for residency spots (1-2 in the last 4-5 years). The Program Director is a Ross graduate and definitely shows a little more love towards Ross students.

Go to Lincoln for EM electives as a student, you'll do more, see more and have way more responsibility than any of the Brooklyn hospitals -- you'll actually get a schedule and basic responsibilities that mirror one of their interns.
