    Books for Clinicals?

    Advertisements

As I am starting to pack for my move to the east coast for clinicals, I was wondering if there are books from our basic science years that are useful for clinicals. Should I bother taking any of the old books with me?

tho not necessary but once in a while i did refer back to my goljan rapid review patho book for some refresher in some diseases that i had forgotten about and came across during rotations. but you can easily just as well google too.

you don't need anything from basic sciences. some books that you might want to get for clinicals are surgical recall for surgery, step up to medicine for internal medicine, blueprints for ob-gyn was okay, blueprints for peds was ok, first aid for the psychiatry clerkship.

the big ones are bolded. there are many other books that people use. the one i found most useful however, was Maxwell's Amazon.com: Maxwell Quick Medical Reference (Maxwell, Quick Medical Reference Maxwell, Quick Medical Refe) (9780964519138): Robert W. Maxwell: Books and a drug guide like epocroties for your phone.

really uptodate articles are more than enough and you get free access to uptodate in the hospital so just print the articles you want and read them at home.
