    Difficulty returning matching in CANADA?

    Advertisements

    I would like any students who know about matching in Canada to evaluate the rather pessimistic claims made by this website. are they true? any input would be greatly appreciated. Here it is-a letter to students of SABA.

    Along the same note, I have decided to contact my member of provincial parliament (Ontario) to (many of you would say, whine) complain about the current situation, after reading the above site.

    Every little bit helps, right??

    Good idea! Dealing directly with the political actors for this political issue will be much more productive than the students complaining (whining) about it on ValueMD will.

    Physicians (in the US especially, and in Canada, and probably everywhere else) have to become more politically active, or quit complaining about the ways that pols (and their larvae, lawyers) are screwing physicians, patients, and ruining medicine in general.

    yes, returning to canada is very difficult as the open letter states. there is nothing in that statement that is false. bottom line is, if you want to return to canada, don't go to a foreign school. as for myself, i don't mind working in the u.s. at all.
    the car's on fire and there's no driver at the wheel and the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides and a dark wind blows. the government is corrupt and we're on so many drugs with the radio on and the curtains drawn. we're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine and the machine is bleeding to death.

    I plan never to return to Canada because I will not be taking the MCCE's along the way.

    When the USMLE's are considered equal throughout Canada, I might try.

    return to canada? No dice.

    As the post states it is extremely difficult to return to Canada. The way I see it, If Canada is going to make it so hard for us to become physicians taht we have to leave Canadian soil and go abroad, then even if I could come back, why would I want to? There is a huge demand for qualified physicians in Canada at the moment, and how do they compensate for it? By increasing the amount of seats at every med school by about 10, making it harder and harder for students to get into schoool, and by making thousands of IMG's both Canadian and foreign work for minimum wage while they hope to get a residency spot that has gone unfilled. Canada is my home and I love it, but when they force me to leave, I don't plan on ever returning.
