    SUSOM Website

    Advertisements

Does anyone else think Saba USOM needs their wesite updated? I would actually be embarrassed to show my friends and family the site because it makes the school look unprofessional and cheesy! It's bad enough that Caribbean med schools have a negative stigma about them already, but if they had up-to-date websites it might make them look more professional and respectable. I do think as far as getting around the site that it is great! Very straight forward, which is more than I can say about other med school sites, but it fails aesthetically! The tacky purple colour and the poor pictures (under "school overview", for example) makes the site look like it was made when the school opened in the 80's and hasn't been updated much since.
I don't mean to be too harsh, I just think it needs to be overhauled/updated. They could put some money aside from each students tuition to make the site more appealing to draw new students, make the present ones proud to show it off, make a better online application, and a little unrelated, but get online banking too. With the money spent there every 3.5 months, it would things a lot easier for the students.
P.S. I have a friend who has a fairly new web design business that has been doing work for some Canadian educational institutions, if you're interested
P.P.S. Ross updated their site this year, AUC told me they were doing the same and SGU already has a good site, however SGU's site isn't as easy to get around as Saba's

CANKID I agree both MUA and SABA need to update their website. I know when you go on MUACAMPUS.org some of the links don't even work. As a prospective student you want to have some sort of access to student clubs and what the school is doing before making a decision. Website are very badly put together.

This topic has been talked about on here at length within the last 6 months or year.. Like KingMo mentioned, I know they did have plans to make changes, but who can really say when it will happen. Last August students were asked in an e-mail from the clinical dean what changes would be beneficial.. I guess things are just moving on Caribbean time!!
