What kind of loans are people getting?

    Advertisements

Hi, I'm a junior about to apply to a couple of U.S. schools and a couple Caribbean schools as well next year. I was wondering about what kind of loans you are able to apply for, the most popular loans, etc. I dont imagine U.S. federal loans are in the equation? Thanks

Saba is not eligible for federal loans although I have heard that they are working on it. Ross, AUC and St. George's are eligible for these loans, but they are considerably more expensive than Saba, so it kind of negates that plus point.

How much are you guys budgeting for / year?

I'm getting figures like 35 thousand / year for absolutely everything, rent/living/food/school/transportation etc.

Please tell me what your budget looks like.

    Hate being poor ...

I've calculated the total cost of attending Saba to be about $140 k assuming tuition etc. doesn't go up too much during the time there.

SGU, Ross, AUC get federal loans.

I don't see saba getting federal loans anytime soon. It has to do with some (insert appropriate legal term) that was passed awhile ago...

    Thanks Jeebus,
Is there certain criteria for which a school must qualify in order to qualify for federal loans or is it based more on the reputation of the school? Thanks
