    re books

if saving money is the name of your game then......

There is the latest copy of Snell on PDF....ask your mentor or check the 3rd semester computer.

I don't know many that will sell their FIX (many will use it for USMLE prep), so I suggest you go ahead and buy the 3rd edition. If you don't care what edition you have, I have the 2nd edition on PDF. There are also PDF's of neuroanatomy atlases. again, ask your mentor or PM me and I can get them to you before classes start.

the epi book is available in the library. It is only good for the questions at the end of each section and the book questions have been scanned into the computer. however, many of the answers are not with the scanned questions, so having the book is a big plus. but again, you can check it out of the library; don't spend money on it!

IMO, do spend the money and buy clinical micro made simple. I really really liked the book and did read it for every block exam. and buy the BRS neuroanatomy for the questions at the end of each section. they were very helpful for me in regards to the shelf. in fact, some of the comp questions from BRS were very similar to the shelf questions!

AND FINALLY, have a copy of FIRST AID. It's fantastic for micro and neuro shelf reviews. , btw, the latest edition can be bought at ICS....

    Books

Amy is right (for once ).

Also don't bother with the epi book, just be sure to go to Bansal's office and ask him for practice questions, they're very helpful.

Also there's a copy of first aid available for download you can PM me for it. Though I think it's a valuable enough resource that you might want to consider investing in it.

I'd also grab a neuro atlas if for no other reason then Keller expects you to have it and he pulls images for test questions right out of the atlas and Fix.

Other than that be sure to get the informatics book. You really need it.

Oh, the informatics book. Yes, very useful. My friend actually read a chapter of it. I think he was drunk.
