UK Graduate interested in Russian and Ukrainian Medical Schools

    Advertisements

    Hello all!

This is my first post here, although I have been an avid reader of these forums over the past couple of years.

I am a British student who will be soon graduating (In June) with a degree in Human and Medical Science from the University of Westminster and am also an experienced ambulance medic with some reserve military experience. I wish to become a Doctor and am interested in studying in Russia or Ukraine to obtain an MBBS or MD. I am looking to major cities (St Petersburg, Moscow, Kiev and Kharkov), but there is little information on how to actually apply, what little information I can find are for school-leavers from India. Could anybody offer me some advice on how to go forward with pursuing a medical education in Russia or Ukraine?

Thanks very much, and spasibo bolshoye!

Okay . Usually people apply into Russian and Ukrainian universities through agents.

I am not advertising , but since you are in UK ( i assume ) I am telling this . You can apply into Kursk state medical university ksmu through TRC colleges . you can google trccollege , i think their head office is in London so easy for you . ksmu is the first Russian medical university to offer English medium courses .

Bottom line is to apply into Russian universities you need a help of an agent . I dont know whether you can trust them or not . Though some universities website states that an applicant can send the documents by mail to them , dont know what happens after that :-) .

I am thinking of applying into First Moscow Medical Academy on my own by sending the documents , If that fails I will apply to NNSMA through an agent .

Are you looking for Russian medium or English medium courses ?

    Good Luck.

    Hi Max,

I'm from the UK too and want to study medicine. Like you I have a degree, BSc Pharmacy and worked in pharmacy, however I want to become a doctor so I too am looking into both Ukraine and Russia.
i have a friend who's in studying in Crimea State Med Uni in Ukraine. 5th year and is progressing through. He said at the time of application he didn't use an agent. I've heard of Star consultants but don't know anyone personally who's used them. From their website they look reputable and I've seen them as contact agents on official school websites. However you can't wrong do your research.

    Hi Max,
I want to study in Russia or Ukraine too. Today I called 2 Ukrainian universities (Bogomolets and Karazin), but I could not find anyone who speaks English. I am planning to go and visit universities by myself there. If you guys get any info pls let us now.
