    Contacting Russian Med Schools

    Advertisements

    Hello!

I am interested in applying to Russian Medical schools' prep programs to learn Russian. What is the best way to get in contact with these schools? E-mail or telephone? Do you have to contact them in Russian as well, or could you contact them in English?

    Thank you to any replies!

    Veronica-Rose hi

Unfortunately I dont know the answers of your questions. But just the other day we were talking with another friend from Canada about medicine education in Russia, and I thought you may want to take a look at them (actually they are the 17th and 19th posts of the same thread):

    Hello,

Thank you, bidiboom! That picture isn't very pleasant at all, I'll definitely keep that in mind.

I dont have any problem with Russia and dont have any personal feeling about neither Russia nor Russians. Thats not personal Veronica. Thats just how we observe in general. If you the young people come from another, far continent here and experience something wrong, I really feel bad. The E-EU med schools(especially the quality ones in Poland like Jagiellonian, in Czech Republic Charles 1st Faculty) are more well-established in general, legally, traditionally etc. Generally speaking, you breathe a pretty civilized air there. But of course its your personal matter, I just wanted you to know what I know, thats all.

Good luck in your way, whatever you choose, Russia or any other place

    hi Veronica-Rose.

i studied in Russia for 3 yrs, hence bidiboom let me know about your topic.
about your question;the best way to contact is through the international office of the university.you can check their phone numbers from the uni website, and surely better call them instead of mailing to speed up the process.also u dont have to speak russian of course, they all speak english in international offices..and if u ask me,dont deal with contractors such as Racus,Parvez...etc.they only care about the money they get from you.they may just create some extra payments, such as insurance, hostel room reservation..and so on,even though u dont have to pay anything like that.

and of course check if u'll be able to practice in your country when you're done with ur education in russia.i had friends studying with me in russia, most of them were indians and chinese, almost all preferred to practice in their countries, and sat for their board exams.only 1 is working in Australia now,so its possible to work in Aus,but he struggled a lot for that.had friends from Sweden who are working in Sweden now.for Canada and US,i have no idea, but it might be possible.but the universities bidiboom mentioned above are probably more prestigious and secure since they are already in EU,and are recognized by the medical councils of US and Canada i guess.

Currently, they should speak good English. But, since in the most universities admission will be open in June (and academic year will start in September - October), it make a bit long to get their answer
