Edward89, one more thing. My agent says me that from Sept. I shall directly get into MD program. Another site also says that premeds are only allowed for Feb. sessions. What did ur agent say? I am confused! Agents, after all are hardly to be trusted.

    hi there,

i thought those cities near to the Moscow would cost a fortune in living costs. For those well-equipped facilities, you would hv to pay certain "price" for it.

    Answers to your questions:
    1) I hv paid for RM1230 (Malaysian Ringgit) for application to KSMU for getting the offer letter which i got few days ago (12/5/2008). ->my agent is MAGARAM ENTERPRISE. web:www(dot)ksmu(dot)com(dot)my -> currency rate RM 1 = 13 INR

    2) Since the day i've submitted my application till i received the offer letter now, it's approximately 1 and half month. (my agent estimate it's around 2 months)

    3) I've finished SPM (equivalent to O-level) last yr (2007) but i hvn't started A levels.

    4) Sarawak is 1200 km from KL.

and i heard KSMU is the 1rst university in Russia to establish English medium for medicine course.

The language website you gave me is wonderful. THANKS. ^^ anymore webs like this?

I hope to see you in KSMU this september. anyway, decision is up to you.

    GOOD LUCK,
    edward.

    hi Cox's Bazar,

sorry i din see your second post here. If you have education qualification such as A-level, you can get into Medicine straight away in this sept. but you will have to sit for admission test in Kursk, Russia (i think) b4 the KSMU will accept you into MD program. But if you enter MD through Pre-Med in KSMU, you won't hv to sit for the exam.

Look to this web (my agent web) ksmu(dot)com(dot)my/intakes(dot)htm . it says the pre-med intakes are available in Feb and Sept.

I contact MAGARAM (my agent dealing for application for KSMU in Malaysia) through another agent(dealing with Magaram) which work for tat company. and tat agent is trustworthy as my dad knew her. but i've never heard tat we can enter MD program using O-level qualification though. My Pre-Med fee is around RM32,000 (excluded application fee and living cost). visit this my post in this forum: forum(dot)malaysianmedicine(dot)com/topic(dot)asp?TOPIC_ID=1602 --> (you hv to registered to the forum to view it.

be fast though, if you really want to study in KSMU. but i've heard a lot of negative things about KSMU such as rude ppl, stress, poor living condition etc. but remember that none university is perfect for one's ideal. i jz want to study and get the knowledge and i dun care for others stuff. If you are determined, nothing can stop you. After all, the application for KSMU in Malaysia close in 30th June. Plus you will hv a lot of things and documents to take care of once you received the offer letter such as Medical check-up and etc.

you can ask anything from me. i'm willing to help you.

Your info has been of incredible invaluable to me. I like helpful people and am also eager about being helpful 2 others. What are you currently studdying? PHY, CHEM and BIO? If you face problems, I think we can discuss and that perhaps will clear up your thoughts as well as help me in brushing up me ideas. And ur language? Okay, if you don't feel liek talking about these things then perhaps we can discuss other things that shall help us to prepare and share about our upcomming studdies. Tell me one thing buddy, in one of your previous posts u said u made a lot of researches and only after that have able to go for ksmu. What research did u made? Did u really find reliable sources? Do you think going to ksmu would me a good option according to u? Why did u chose ksmu only and not only other universities?
    Bye Buddy.

My researches about KSMU including inside the internet (mostly forums like this) and informations from students studying at there, all from Malaysia though - after i got tired searching in forum (some i took a look in their blog about their lives at there). I haven't get their permission to share their blog though. i'll send you the link to their pages in ur mailbox "private messages" in this forum. check it out.

I'm chinese and most of the time i speak chinese and English comes as a secondary language to me. I choose KSMU for the reason
1)its whole fee is within my parent's ability
2)one of the 5 med uni in Russia tat are recognized by Malaysian Government
3)the agent in-charged near my residential and she helped me out a lot such as filling the forms and other applications.
4)I have known some friends at KSMU thru forums and they are nice ppl.

I have been very busy these few days after i received the offer letter from the KSMU bcoz there's a deadline set by my agent to b send in every documents and fees.

and i've gone to Form 6 (like A-level) temporarily to learn bio, phy and chem. so far i hvn't face any difficulties though but i might have in the future so mayb i need to ask you.

i'm paying the whole pre-med course fee soon (bcoz of the deadline set by the agent) so hopefully everything will go well. i'm going to KSMU for sure.

I'm busy these days so if anything you would like to ask me about stuff at KSMU or help you to ask those students studying at there, you are welcome to do so.

    take k,
    Dasveedania ^^

Too busy? Yes, I understand. Premed or med; both the lives are tougher all the same.

Nice to hear that u r a Chinese. Then probably u and ur family have settled out in Malaysia. My father was actually too much interested to send in China for MBBS which is equivalent to MD. With the booming economy of China my father was also too concerned about my safety and education quality as well, so he opted for China seriously at first. But it was me who was not very interested for some reason. Now my father is willing me to send in ksmu and he is actually not even ready any other universities in Russia. But I am taking things the other way round. All I am trying to do is simply look for other russian universities that will offer me less tuition fees. But my father is not willing to really look for cheaper universities bcoz then he thinks I will not get the best of the education. So, ksmu, which he thinks is within his range; he is interested to send me there.
So I think I better listen to my father and now my purpose is to know about ksmu from its students as much as possible. Thanx for the blogs u sent me.
However, other than hardships of studdying MD, what's even more keeping me engaged is learning to manage my households and myself as well. Oopss! I mean that all these years my mother had hardly ever allowed me to cook in the kitchen or clean my room. And now, after all these years of not working, I have seriously grown lazy. So my practice of reversing my habits are now going on. I myself am tryng to change myself. Anyways.......I guess u have lot to study. So no more bla...bla...bla...

If I get any other kool russian language learning websites then I shall let u know. www(dot)russianlessons(dot)net is an average type website. You can take a look. Also ask for any help concerning your phy, chem or bio.

    Keep in Touch.
    Take care

A laptop may be a useful device for MD students as likns from websites may be really needed by one. Yes, the university cybercafe may provide with inter connections but still a personal thing is after all all you own only. So I think I might carry a laptop with me when I shall get into Russia. What do u say? Any idea about which brand to use of laptops?

    Hi there,

Yea, tuition fee was my 1rst concern towards which universities to choose from. But KSMU isn't the cheapest uni in Russia. You can try to search for Volgograd or Nizhny unis. Those uni fees are cheaper in long terms from the way they include hostel fee inside the tuition fee. whereas KSMU doesn't do tat. and i think those unis hv better study environments and facilities since Niz and Vol are both inside the city. (you can google and see the russia map) Kursk is like... a village without much entertainment and disturbance. I like it better in that way but i din know about your choice.

I din do household that much b4 too. but i can learn. i'm learning everyday now how to cook, washing my own clothes, deciding my own stuff. after all, you will 'somehow' know how to do those household once you are there bcoz you din hv much choice. but prevention is always better than cure. It's not you alone are facing such prob. nowadays we (youngster) are almost the same. you dun hv to worry. the life of studying overseas is to learn how to work and live with others. Friends are very important once your family isn't around. cheer up. ^.^

and dun worry about things such as 'best education'. Getting into Haward uni will give you the best lectures, best notes, best guidance and etc. What will really turn you into a doctor depends on yourself. Your determination, your loves for people, your desires and your dreams. There's been cases of excellent students come from unknown universities. There's nothing as absolute in this world. We do what we can for the best and hope for the best.

I'm not bring laptop over to KSMU bcoz i will buy from a senior at there as he'll graduate soon. And those seniors told me that computer is only used sometimes for assignments and most of the time as an entertainment (i've told you that there's not much entertainments at there). If you dun wish to play heavy games on the laptop (laptop isn't mend for entertainment in the 1rst place. if you want, go and buy desktop for cheaper means), you only need to spend around RM2000. (in my place it's adequate for doing project - although it's not enough for multimedia students to do their homework) then try to buy laptop around those price and within your comfortable range.

rite now i've been preparing what to bring before for going there. But i dun think i'll be able to carry all my necessities over there so i'll ask my parents to use cargo to send others to there. (there's weight limits when you are boarding plane) and i think you will also need to bring a lot of stuff if you go to russia. (it's almost like moving house =p) so you will hv to think of a way to send those important and urgent needs such as food to KSMU bcoz most of the things at there are expensive and for the reason you are not used to the foods or stuffs when you 1rstly arrive at there.

ps:those 4 books i mentioned b4 for premed in KSMU weights about 10KG. you really need to send things through cargo.

    wishing you good luck,
    edward

Please, be careful deciding to use Cargo. Russian customs regulations are not that easy, so, you may have some heavy days visiting the local customs and fulfilling the required documents (in Russian). Be sure the company offering the service will bring your goods to your room or at least offer your assistance in getting it at customs.
