    Ryazan State Medical University is currently the only national medical school offering MD programs in Russian, English, and French.
    Ryazan is one of the oldest Russian cities located in 200 km to the south from Moscow.
    The university is a good example how a good team may bring obvious results in a short period. I guess that a number of international students there increased by 30 times during last 5-6 years. Currently there are more than 1,500 foreign students from more than 50 countries. The university offers very good options for students’ accommodation. And in terms of postgraduate study, I think it is one of few Russian schools offering the training in English. Also, it was mentioned before: the university is among 10 top national medical schools.
    You do not need to worry about Bologna convention. Russia did join it, so, all the state universities (including this one) are working within this project. The more important think, you need to check whether your MD degree (in a case it is not from Russia or CIS countries) is OK with local requirements. Russian system of MD diploma recognition differs from that in US and UK. In many cases holders of 5-year MBBS from India and Pakistan are not eligible for direct admission for a postgraduate training in Russia.
    If I may give you my personal advice, you need to make a decision soon: this year the university will have shorter intake and it looks like that almost places will be occupied soon.
    I am sorry, I do not have information on St Petersburg University. If you mean Faculty of Medicine, St Petersburg State University, check previous threads posted a couple of years ago (just search): it was their representative here to publish some info.

    Take a look at previous message of bpoichan. He has described what students of People Friendship University should know about the safety. I guess PFU and Russian State Medical Universitiy are two good options among med schools in Moscow: their hostels are located close to the study buildings. So, the students may just walk when going to the classes and back (at least if non-clinical study at first years is concerned). Outside Moscow the same is true for Ryazan State Medical University. This school has about 500 students from India. May be this will be valueable for you too.

    Sorry for taking long to reply. Nostrification means you need to obtain confirmation that your documents on previous (school or graduate) education are valid, equal to programs adopted in Russia and make you eligible for a further (graduate or postgraduate) education here. The confirmation sgall be from a special department at Ministry of Education. The followinf shall be done toward it:
    - you get your original documents stamped by Ministry of Education and Russian Embassy in your country (or country of the documents origin), [the system may differ from countru to country];
    - make its official translation (verified by a notary or Russian Embassy) into Russian language in two copies;
    - send the set of the documents (including a copy of passport and visa, cheque on payment of the tax fee) to Ministry of Education (or a regional department eligible for the same).
    It usually takes a couple of months for getting their official answer.
