Question RE: essentials to bring to the Island

    Advertisements

OKay So I understand the apts are furnished now what does that mean do I need to bring dishes, pot and pans, etc. Also are the apts equipped with Refrigators and how big?
    What's the laundry situation?
And can I expect to buy books once I arrive on the Island at the Island thrift bookstore or should I pre-order them?
How much should one bring in traveler's check what is the estimated cost for living for a semester?

Question RE: essentials to bring to the Island

The apartments will have a bed, lighting, desk, and a closet with shelves (some). Some will come with plates, and silverware, but some don't and there isn't any way to predict that. However you don't need to bring them with you UNLESS You like cooking with special a pan or wok or something. You can buy that used from students or cheap stuff from the local stores (best buy, grant bizaar, etc). Island Thrift also has a bunch of that in good condition.

Every semester students will sell their old books around the library in the few days preceding class. If you haven't pre-ordered your books from Island Thrift (www.islandthrift.com) now its a bit late. The store does have a few scopes left.

    Hope this helps!

I can't provide a good estimate -- hopefully others can answer that last question.
