    Pur water filter system?

    Advertisements

    Hey guys,

I was wondering if I get a Pur 3 Stage Faucet Mount filter system will that fit the faucets in dominica. Are the sizes different when you screw the ring on or is it the same there as the US? I wanna get that one because it sounds good and useful but I don't know if it will work. Seems like it is a good deal for like $20-30 bucks. I found it at Sam's club for 35 and you get 2 filters. You guys think it is a good deal or you got any suggestions for me???
    Thanks.

    Jen

    sink

My son brought a water filter with him to Dominica. I went with him and when we put it on the faucet he was unable to get any pots under the filter . We took it off and I brouht it back to the USA. My son bought bottled water and would fill up the bottles with the filtered Ross water. He never had a problem.

Since you will be eating alot of food at the shacks you seem to build up an immunity to the bacteria. Just kidding!!

    Good luck at ROss.
When you become my age you will realize all of the hard work and studying was worth the effort.
"60 years young" another 60 to go if my doctor sons keep me alive with free prescriptions!!

    filters

In my experience, the sinks are not deep enough to have a filter and be able to use it properly. Buying water bottles and refilling at the school water fountain is the second best option. Oh, and make sure you don't keep re-filling the same bottle for too long, cuz plastic grows germs real fast. Good luck!

    ??

I bought a brita pitcher and several replacement filters and it was great. I used it the entire 16 months and replaced the filters every 2-3 months.

Much better than carrying multiple jugs of water from the school every few days.

I then sold it for what I bought it for at the end.

My daughter used the PUR Ultimate filter, was able to get pots and pans under it, and changed the filter about every month. It worked great for her.

    water filter

However strand this might sound, your best option is to buy a couple of 5 liter water jugs and carry it once a week from the school fountains to your house. It is free and it is pure. It will save you money and if you do bring a filter system be warned, you will probably have problems finding the filters here. As far as having them mailed, my wife mails me my four favorite magazines each months and mailing 4 magazines takes about 2 weeks and costs 18 u.s. dollars. I dont know what it would cost to mail filters or what the import tax would be on them

I sent them down before, and they're quite light so it didn't cost too much. When my daughter came home for breaks, she packed one filter for each month plus one extra. Living up on the Banana Trail precluded her lugging water jugs up the hot path.
