You should have known by now if you passed the comp or not.
They sent out emails on Jan 4th.

65 took the comp on Dec 22nd.
Anyone know how many passed/failed ?

65 took it and the passing score was a 60.

Many students I know had between 55-59. It is sad, but they will have to do BMSI.

don't you need bmsi for miami ?

It definitely would suck to stay here another semester. But if you don't pass the comp then won't that mean you will have a hard time in miami ? So its better to spend the time to review. Of course I'd rather spend that three months at home studying by myself than in Dominica.

If the students make the best use of their time in Dominica, its actually an advantage.

I am assuming they will bring their own Kaplan books to study for the boards.

bmsi is a money making scheme

no idea y people have to take the comp...it's a waste of time and y put students through the depression of staying on the island for an extra 9 weeks???? i dont get it....u know how many kids start prozac and other anti anxiety drugs being here on the island....it is lonely...depressing...and earthquakes aren't helping any...oh well.....school administration has its reasons and maybe one day BMSI will be gone...but as for now...OH WELL...WAT can u do...

    bmsi

i had a very close friend take bmsi. they are in class all day and most of the afternoon. it took a big chunk out of your "independent" study time.
in addition, the questions are made from our faculty and if you didn't attend class, you missed out. the questions are mini style (you have to attend class). everyone knows what the professors do when everyone starts skipping class i think bmsi should be in miami if we have to have it at all.

    rumor

everyone knows how the rumor mill works here at Ross but word is going around again that this is the last semester of BMSI. Has anyone heard anything? I would assume Ross wouldnt turn down 7500.00 or what ever it is for the course.

    Re: bmsi

Many people in BMSI are those who failed one of the courses in 4th semester. They have to repeat the failed course and take BMSI. I think this works better for Step 1 review than repeating the whole 4th semester (with ICM and hospital rotation). So the idea of moving BMSI to Miami is not very attractive to me. Uh... I don't plan to fail any course in 4th semester, just think about worse case scenario.

I have to disagree. This semester most of the students doing BMSI are doing it because of a low GPA.

Most of the people who failed in 4th, have failed before and may hae been asked to leave or transfer from the school.
