    NEED SERIOUS ADVICE

    Advertisements

Hey all u probably dun remember meeeeez but im the guy who came here for advice a few months back. I graduated with a international marketing degree a while back and then decided to go for medicine - well in case YOU didnt know my story: I'd originally planned to be a doctor in college but made lousy grades because of personal issues to deal with - flunked chem. one time and intro biology 2 times, plus failed a math class. My GPA was a 1.5 at one time - then my personal problems got resolved and I graduated by making a 3.8 the last 2 years of my marketing degree. Now I've almost finished my first half of premedical classes this semester - Im going to get an A in these class I took: chemistry II, physics, and intro to biology. next Semester I'll take bio. 2, physics II & organic; my counselor thinks I should make a 3.4 in those classes since I did okay this semester. So my question is: Should I aim to apply to American schools or they're definitely won't be taking me? I need to know cause my loan amount will be decided by whom I apply to. Honest replys appreciated

    med school

personally I would worry about doing my very best at your remaining classes then worry about the mcat exam. I know people that had 3.8 gpa and didnt get in to a us school. Mcat is going to play a big role if you get in or not.

    Carribean School

Sorry but you have no chance of getting into a US medical school. Come down here to the Carribean and join the rest of us ex-slackers who are busting our tails now. It wont matter in the end.

    just try

Nothing like 1 round of applications to see how strong you really are!

Apply to US schools, DO schools and SGU/Ross/AUC. If, indeed, you are competitive, you will see atleast interviews from US schools...if you are being denied, then look to the Caribbean. Nothing wrong with aiming high at first!
