Making the final decision....Where to go Ross May term vs SGU Jan term???

    Advertisements

I know, this topic has been reviewed more than enough times on this board, and I was able to get a lot of information via searching on this forum to see the St.George's vs Ross from academic, student, life style, etc point of views.

I am at a point where I have to decide whether Ross May term or St.George's January term, so I ask you for your final comment/thoughts on it.

Here is a short summary of each program. It is a direct comparison between the two programs, not relating it to US DO or MD programs…just St.George's vs Ross, and they are from my search/study on both programs, may be right, may be wrong

    Ross May term
    - Cheaper than SGU
    - Faster pace, rush semesters than SGU (rather condensed schedule)
    - Shorter time in the island (1.5 yr)

    SGU January Term
    - More expensive (about 10K/yr than Ross)
    - Cleaner, better campus
    - "better" study support system (prep for USMLE1)
    - longer period in the island (2 yrs)
    - January term gets full 3~4 months for USMLE 1 prep right after 2nd year
    - More like traditional US semesters (summer, winter break), but may be longer than Ross

    any comment/thought is appreciated
    thanks guys!

Honestly by May the new campus center and such should be done which would really help boost Ross in terms of "cleaner" and better.

Ross has also adopted a new optional "slow track" program that allows you to complete your first 2 years in 5 semesters, rather than 4. They chose this to help reduce attrition rate, and lower stress levels on students...but like I said, it's completely optional unless you repeat a semester.
