Kind of, there is no set research department or anything. Anatomy and Pathology departments do let students pick their own research to do with the cadavers if they wish. But there is no structured research program on the island.

So there aren't any research projects that students can do with faculty? no opportunities to get published? or present research posters at conferences?

No and this is a common theme with Caribbean schools. Research is how US Schools pay for themselves, Caribbean schools charge enough tuition, and have lower cost of operation maintaining less faculty that they pay for themselves.

Going to a caribbean school is what hurts one's chances of obtaining a residency. Having research will make your app more competitive but your USMLEs are what get your app past the ERAS filters so that they can even see that you've done any research.
