    Acceptance/Rejection wait time thread

    Advertisements

how long did it take for you to get accepted after the interview?

how long did the person that you know got rejected have to wait? (im guessing no one who got rejected is going to see this but you may have known someone who did)

almost 5 weeks post interview to hear about MERP.

To hear about straight in admissions, I'm gonna guess a bit shorter, probably 3-4 weeks? I think they determine who gets into the school straight first, then determine the next MERP class after.

As far as rejection, I've always been told that med schools are "quick to reject", so I'm sure you'd hear sooner. I'm sure the interviewers also have the option of writing on your summary "I truly do not recommend this candidate" (if they really dont like you), in which case you'd prob. hear VERY soon.

Let's see... Here are the numbers:
    MCAT 28M (11 **, 10 PS, 7 VR)
2.6 undergrad gpa (about the same for sciences)
3.9ish post-bac (just pre-req retakes so gen chem, gen bio, physics, and o. chem)
3.8 master's gpa (but this was in Education)

Volunteered: children's hospital and family planning clinic (current)
Research: 4 summers worth of research all through high school and got published
I currently work as a tutor and instructor doing test prep, math, and study skills...I don't know if this made a difference in my application, but I thought I'd add it in.

Although my grad school scores didn't add to my science GPA, it did show I did better in school. My interviewer told me that doing all of that research in high school showed maturity. And I got the impression that they place more emphasis on shadowing, not just volunteering in a hospital/clinic.

    I think that's it?

I don't think you need to be nervous...I waited 5 weeks. So you might find out soon or you might find out a few weeks from now. It will say Decision Made on Embark when they're done. Unfortunately, unless your stats are stellar and Ross really wants you, you will be on the waitlist for September and guaranteed for January...like me.
