    Research day= day off

Its a day where people from different parts of the world doing medical research are invited by ross to speak about medically relevant topics. At the same time, you can present any medically relevant research you may have done in undergrad. Supposedly, its a good way to get to know people in the medical research field and develop connections for later on when you may want to be doing research.

I would think getting to know people locally, or where you will be rotating would be of more use than someone say in Cambodia. But hey, day off is just as good!

    lol closter is joking

Mini questions typically are NOT constructed depending on these lectures. However, last semester the micro dept opted to offer 2or so questions as extra credit related to the research lectures....Use your time wisely

    day off.

this is ross, not harvard, yale or stanford. for 16months, you are put through a hell that Canadian and US med students will never experience until they go through rotations (and if their very lucky, maybe not until residency). Thats one great thing about ross: its almost a Spartan way of training aspiring doctors - those that succeed can handle just about anything thrown at them the rest of their undergrad medical education (residency is a different story, but apparently ross grads do exceedingly well at that level)....now I am ranting

my advice - this is the last weekend you can afford to spend at your own leisure, so take advantage of it.

all i know is that if you go to research day they ask you to register by signing your name on the sign in sheet, this is their record that you attended that particular research day. if you go to at least 3 out of the 4 (one research day per semester and there are 4 semesters assuming you don't fail one) you will get credit for it. By credit I mean that if you ask someone from Ross to write you a letter of rec for any reason they have on record that you attended their research days so they will mention that in the letter that they write for you. How does that help you or improve the quality of the letter of rec that they write you, I don't know but if it's something you want to get for some reason then go for it. Other than that, consider it extra study time to catch up.
