    Loans

I am also going to Ross in January. I have already submitted the FAFSA application online and the school told me they have already received it. After that, they said that I would not hear back about financial aid until the fall. I do not know what that means but I guess I'll wait until the fall to find out.

They have to do all the sept '09 fa applications before they start on the Jan '10 applications. It's just too early. You can fill it out if you would like but they wont do anything with them until Sept the earliest.

Basically, if you r approved for FAFSA, then you are eligible for Federal loans. Yeah this is not like undergrad where if you are approved for FAFSA, they will give you the money and you don't have to pay it back. There is nothing like FREE MONEY HERE !

So as I said, once u r approved for FAFSA, which you will be if you a US citizen or green card holder, then you will be eligible for a federal loan. If not, then you will have to apply for a private student loan from the BIG banks !

For Sept, it shouldn't be too long. Probably a few weeks? But I don't remember anymore. When I filled it out it was after the deadline but I still had my check waiting for me in Dominica.

No they don't send any letter in mail. They will send you an email saying that you will need X amount of money for the sept. semester. Coz I was not approved for FAFSA, I don't know about that process, but I am guessing that if you are approved for FAFSA, they will say you are approved and you can then go ahead and apply for Federal loans. You can apply for federal loans thru banks also, especially Bank of America coz that is the only student loan they do !

So just fill out the FAFSA and wait !! Push them ( Ross ) if u don't get an answer !
