Has anyone gotten rejected from an interview?

    Hi All,

I just found out I have an interview coming up and I've read that people either get in or get MERP'ed after their interview. I was wondering if there's good amount of people that get rejected after the interview. Thanks.

    RK

Yes I got rejected after interview at Ross

I went to Ross to interview as a transfer from McGill Faculty of Medicine.
I graduated from Johns Hopkins with honors and had a good MCAT.
They rejected me after I complained that I wanted credit for my ICM intro to clinical med rotations counted as cores.

not sure why you would be transfering if you grad from hopkis w honors and good mcat...also i doubt they rejected you because you wanted something to count that they didnt think should. i would guess you didnt tell all of the story, or you decided not to go because you couldnt get your way.

I think it's a way to make sure that the person can handle a med school workload. It's also based in Miami and not Dominica.
you need minimum of 58% in each class with a total average of 68% in all your classes to go from MERP to 1st semester. so if you really suck in one subject, you need to keep it above a 58% and do awesome in something else to balance it out to a 68% overall.

the 3.2 gpa your thinking about is St. George's Foundations of Medicine (FOM) program, similar to MERP at Ross

I must say that yes people get rejected after interviews from both MERP/school. I was one of those because even though I got A's/B's in all my upper level bio n chem classes, the C's/D's from my 1st 2 years was too much to overlook. I got rejected sad to say. But I'm finishing up my post-bacc at Univ of Maryland and have a gpa of 3.2, pulling my science up to a 2.7. I've applied again so hopefully this time around will be better.
