    Cans exploding during shipping

    Advertisements

Has anyone shipped canned liquids or juice boxes or similar items from Canada or NY in the winter months? Do i have to worry about the cans or bottles exploding in freezing temperatures before they reach the island? or is there some kind of heating system in place along the way?

pretty sure doesnt matter where you ship from, when a plane reaches 30,000 ft its cold in the cargo area. not sure if that is heated or not. doesnt make sense to heat it in my opinion

I shipped my stuff last December in a barrel with leparkan, nothing popped. I had it well the jars in black bags just incase they did pop. Cushioning with toilet paper aint a bad idea either.

    medic,

I'm talking about shipping via sea, not air. I don't think the flight is long enough for things to explode, even at 30,000 feet.

At sea, the shipment is exposed to the elements for days on end.

Not that this is relevant anymore but, i'm pretty sure the cargo areas are at least somewhat heated....they allow you to check your larger animals in and they're not gonna let a dog sit in below freezing temperatures for hours.
