    using myross

    Advertisements

    im new to using the myross system, when we have made a payment does our account balance show up as a negative number? For ex I made the seat deposit payment a long time ago of $1000, now my account balance is -$1000

    Also, when do they charge us for tuition if we registered a few days ago?

    Yes, the negative means you now owe them $1000 less than before.

    I registered a couple of weeks ago and it takes a week or 2 for the balance to be updated on myRoss.

    My problem is, they charge an outrageous amount of money for using the online payment service, approx. 2.5% of the total amount being charged.
    E.G if i want to pay full tuition on VISA ( which i just discovered i can't because the dumb site doesn't accept VISA, only mastercard, etc..) they charge about $330 as a convenience fee.

    Most people just pay tuition via loans. So if you take out $20k in loans, they'll take out tuition (no extra costs) and then give you the rest as a check when you register before the semester starts. If you are not using loans, you can also write them a check when registering and not have to pay the extra convenience fee.

    IOW, they will be giving you back your $1000 (if you do indeed decide to attend.)

    Everyone gets billed at the same time. Usually I remember getting an e-mail about it between 2 and 4 weeks before the semester started. They may wait to see who is passing before they bill....not sure about that though. Don't worry, you'll get billed before you get to the island. The bill will be tuition + $40 (or maybe $50 now) SGA fee - $1000 deposit that you paid already.
