    Shelf exam

I was wondering what exactly are shelf exams? Are they still given at Ross? I remember years ago that a friend of mine was taking that exam but I was wondering what it is?

One easy way to think of it is since the classes are spread out over two semesters, they want to make sure you didn't forget the first half of the material by the end of 2nd/4th semesters. So it is kinda one big final if you will, covering the 2 semesters worth of material for each specific subject. They are still given.

The shelf exams are a standardized test given to US students. The grades you receive are on a sliding scale with 70 being the US average and 64 being equivalent to the first passing score on the step 1.
