    time off for step 2

    Advertisements

I have heard that there are students who take months off to prepare for step 2...from 1 to 3 months. So my question is wouldn't this affect your financial aid? I know that you can have up to five weeks in between clinical rotations...but months?

Everyone is different in terms of if and how much time they take off to study. Step 2 is important so make sure you are prepared when you go in, but remember there is a point of diminishing returns if you take too long.

i like that "point of diminished returns". I have a question too, the advice i was given was to take advantage of the gaps in my rotation and stick it out with first aid cs and usmle world which was "phenomenal" for step 2. What do you guys think? take advantage of schedule gaps? is it better to go thru the clinical years with a partner requesting the same rotations as you or vice versa so that you'll have somone to study cs with? or if this is super far fetched, was patient time the only time that you practiced? how close is cs testing to what they made of the physical exam in miami? I HAVE SO MANY LITTLE QUESTIONS !!!
