    Bookstore International Jan. 2009

    Advertisements

    Hey guys,

I was recently accepted for the Jan. 2009 class and would like to pre-order some books through bookstore international, but all I can find online is the Sept. 2008 order form. Does anyone know if this order form is basically the same as the Jan. one or have there been changes? I tried sending the company an email and calling, but can't get a response. If anyone has any info or knows how I can get the current order form (I havent received the welcome packet yet), I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

They have already changed the list. They should have sent you an email with the new link. It looked the same as the Aug.2008 list. Just call the school and ask for the new link.

I got all of mine from amazon and shipped it to the island. cheaper than the bookstore. plus you don't need all the books they suggest.

The book list link from rossu.edu is updated to the 2009 list. You can download the pdf order form from there.

You don't need 99% of those books.

Physiology: Costanzo - Physiology (she also wrote the BRS and it's pretty good as well)

    Histo - no book

    Biochem - lippincott's

Neuro - High Yield Neuro and the Haine's Atlas are all you need (also Neuroscience by Purves if you like textbooks)

Anatomy - the Moore and Dalley book is your choice; don't believe the 'blue boxes' rumor; Anatomy Recall (this book saved my life); Baby Netters (you'll use this one the most)

First Aid for the USMLE Step I

Do NOT buy all of those books on that list. You will be very disappointed and out A LOT of money. I realize you might not believe me right now and you think you're going to need them - don't worry, you can always buy them when you get here. The bookstore carries everything on that list. But trust me, I have taken the first year of medical school - you have not; I'm not making this up, I'm trying to help you.

Haha don't worry, I wasn't planning on buying all of them...just a few that seem to be highly recommended from what I've read on this forum.

    Thanks for all your help!

What is up with the blue box rumor? I don't think that I've seen any questions that were from the blue boxes and not covered in class. Aren't the questions supposed to come from what is presented in lecture?
