can you do an elective twice?

    Advertisements

Lets say you have done a radiology elective already, and you want to do another one because you are finding a hard time getting a rotation is a radiology subspecialty. Can you do radiology again. I wanted to make sure it does not cause me any problems in the future with licensure or even graduation from school. thanks
There is a lot of gossip in these forums. So I like to keep it fair and balanced

Absolutely. Why wouldn't you be able to? It's done all the time for those going into EM amongst international and U.S. med students and I don't see how radiology could be any different. I'm assuming you are doing the electives at different institutions otherwise, is there any point in doing the same elective at the same institution?

Not to mention of you like EM and are able to get good letters etc. from you first rotation, go off and at least look at some other rotations. It's the one time in your career you can really get an inside look at many different specialties, even if they don't appeal to you why not at least look?
