    Need a little help!!

    Advertisements

my husband goes to ross and his birthday is coming up. i was goin to send him a gift via mail and was wondering on a few things:

    1. so far im sending him some baked goods and was wondering how well they will hold up (have any of u had cookies and etc delivered to u?)
    2. does the university inform him that he received a package?
    3. got any good ideas on stuff i should send down there?
    4. the USPS said it'll take about 8 days to get down there, do you guys know if this # is accurate? or will it take way longer/shorter?

    i'd really appreciate the feedback

    1. Do NOT send baked goods. They will arrive moldy and smelly (see #4)
    2. Ross does inform when packages arrive.
    4. Sometime on time, but most of the time WAY later!

    3. Any kind of instant food he could easily prepare for himself or school supplies (I know, not romantic but really practical and he'd appreciate it) OR light weight clothes
    4. It usually takes longer. When they say 6-10 days, it's almost always taken 3 weeks. Don't forget, when he get the notice in the mailroom, he will only be able to pick it up on M,W,F between 10-1 pm. So it might be a couple of days before he get the package even after it arrives.

express is 6-10 days internationally. That's how things are sent here to me. And it usually takes 2-3 weeks. It's because once the package leaves the US, it is out of their control. Everything comes via boat after that. The only way to guarantee the arrival is to do it fedex or dhl. With fedex, it will cost you an arm and a leg but it gets here in 2 days, at the latest, 3 days assuming you are sending it the fastest method they have available. We've had things send fedex twice and it was FAST! Good luck.

Packages may arrive in Dominica within the time they tell you in the states, but they sit at customs for weeks. Don't plan on him getting anything earlier than 3 weeks.
