    Sad News

I have been reliably informed by my local counterparts that a male student was found dead this morning. He was discovered at the residence of a local drug addict just a few hours ago. My local friend is on the scene right now. He says the residence has been cordoned off and locals have crowded the surrounding area. I don't know him, but my condolences go out to his family and friends. i guess ross will put out a statement later.

With all respect to the family and their privacy, I'm going to say OD very likely.

wow, that is really sad news. especially if its a prof.
If you want to do something, then you will find a way.
If you want to do nothing, then you will find an excuse.

Its probably not a good idea to jump into conclusions as far as cause of death. I feel as if someone's reputation is being tossed back and forth. In a year or so people will be saying "remember that professor who died of an overdose?" Regardless of what the reason is lets give this human being the respect deserved. To make it easier on everyone, think what would you like your collegues to say or not say if something happened to you. Thank you friends.

this thread should be CLOSED before all you geniuses on this forum start making random speculations about a dead person and drag his name through the mud without having any idea what is going on. to the people that suggested OD or anything... you should be ASHAMED OF YOUSELVES

While I agree that no one should jump to conclusions, it is a known fact to the Portsmouth community that the guy at whose residence he was discovered is a notorious drug pusher and addict, who spends most of his time in prison for such behaviour. Just ask any of the local staff on the camppus. Expect people to have their personal theories as to what happened. Locals who were on the scene said the guy just appeared to be asleep. There appears to be no physical signs of foul play.
