You need to obtain an AAMC number next.

You should read the instructions which are on the eras website.

intsructuctions are on the site but the basics are:

    1)get token
2)go to MYERAS at https://services.aamc.org/eras/myeras2007/ register using your token
3)follow instructions after you register by filling out each section

LOR's, transcripts, Dean's letter or any "supporting documents" get sent to ECFMG-Documents to be scanned in and they send them to ERAS.

USMLE scores get sent to ERAS, you fill out a form authorizing them to be sent

NOTE: after registering with ERAS you can print a cover page for your LOR's with instructions for the letter writer and the ECFMG address to send them. Just give that to the leter writer and they send it with the form. It makes it easier bc it has all instructions on there and your aamic number which you should make sure is on all documents you send in.

it is confusing as hell at first so this should get you started but boith eras and ecfmg have check lists and guides.

really, just read the instructions on the webpage just like everybody else did. All it takes is a little research on their website to know what to do.

Does your advisor or someone at Ross sendthe LOR's or do you have to send the LOR's to ERAS?
When you become my age you will realize all of the hard work and studying was worth the effort.

I have one more question about letter of rec......Most of my letters have already been written and sent to me and I send a copy to Ross.
So can I send the original I have directly to ERAS or should I contact my attendings and tell them to send it....if they still have a cppy on them???

send the copies yourself...it makes no difference...just get them on-file with ERAS...

If you send the copies yourself - does it go on ERAS as being a COPY of the letter i.e. the student has read the letter?

They are going to be stamped COPY, regardless. unless you follow their stringent rules! They updated these rules late last month. So check ERAS website to make sure you have these.

I have been told by many PDs that it really does not matter if the letter is confidential or not. Just should be a good letter about you.

Hmm interesting. Can you post those stringent rules? I am not going in the match this year. It would be helpful if someone who is currently applying can shed some knowledge into this.
