Anyone had any experience applying for rotation at Orlando regional?? I applied for 2 electives and they didn't approve either one. They told me I can apply again if I want. Problem is I wanna apply for an "earlier" time period now.
Anyone have any suggestions???

When you become my age you will realize all of the hard work and studying was worth the effort.
"60 years young" another 60 to go if my doctor sons keep me alive with free prescriptions!!
It amazes me how some people in these forums just have to say something about everything withouth having any clue of what they are talking about. Truth is, you have to take everything with a grain of salt here...and although there are great people you can get information from, so many others not only will waste their time but will also mislead so many others...
Micky,
Orlando Regional is a great hospital. They do accept Ross students. I scheduled two electives with them and was denied my 3rd...which happens to be a difficult elective to get anywhere. So my best advise to you is apply again, change the dates and see what happens. I did that with another hospital I applied to for 3 electives and with just a little change in my dates was able to get all 3. Also if you have the coordinator email, it will not hurt if you express your desire of getting a rotation in a particular hospital. I have done that and has worked as well. For Orlando regional, the coordinator is on vacation until Aug 2nd, so try then.
Best of luck to you.
Thanks a lot. I'll apply again and keep my fingers crossed. I'ma pplyng for Neuro and trauma surgery and I know they only have one spot each month. I'll still try.
OH and u know on the application they ask u to put 2 months for one elective do u think it'll matter if one month overlaps in the 2 rotaitons I'll apply for ?
It should not matter. In fact I didn that, and at the end they will work the schedule so that you get both electives back to back. You might not be able to get the trauma surgery, I applied for trauma-peds and was denied, not too many spots and huge demand. Maybe you should look into other electives under that deparment.
Hope this helps.
thanks a lot, it really helps
