10 months for an MD? pffft
You spend about a year and a half on the island of dominica.
last 2-2.5 years are spent in the US doing clinicals
For the 10 semesters for a MD degree. Is this 5 years or 4 years? I am confused. How many semesters do I spend in Carrib for science classes? How is the setup. Thanks for your feeback.

Maybe you meant 10 semesters?

"The Parent Troll !!!"
If you go through without any problems, it comes out to a traditional "fours years." I started in Sep. '03 and I'm expecting to finish by March '07 (definitely by May '07). It's confusing because each semester = 15 weeks (not counting breaks). So at Ross, you can have up to three semesters per year. So get it out your head that each year is two semesters.
First of all, your time on the island is four semesters. If you start in September (the fall semester), you will go through the fall, spring, summer, and another fall semester. Then to Miami for 12 weeks (which is most of your 5th semester).
The remaining 3 weeks of your 5th semester is completed when you start your rotations. And you just keep counting every 15 weeks so that every 15 weeks you are on a rotation is a semester. And taking breaks does not count towards your semester.

Since my son is exactly at the point where you are and will finish his rotations in April 2007 because he took a few weeks off to study for step 2. I beleive that semester 5 is now 12 weeks for everyone so you actually lose out on three weeks of elective rotations.Originally Posted by awdc
