    Life of a Medical Student

    Advertisements

    Hi!
I'm starting at Ross in the Fall. How would you describe the life of a typical student going to Ross. Do we get weekends off? Am I going to be busy with school 8-5 everyday? Are you able to squeeze any downtime for yourself and be able to talk to loved ones back home?

lets see...monday to friday, roughly, class from 8 to 4. study until 11 or so. weekends, study from 7am to 11 pm. thats pretty much it. some people studied later. i ALWAYS took the weekend off before exams and scuba dove. relaxed fro the exam. i usually worked out after class for about an hour, ate, then studied on campus. weekend included workout and nap time during the day. 1 hour per workout, and 1 hour per nap.

people's schedules vary wildly. I studied completely differently than jim, do whatever works for you and don't feel bad that other people are studying more/less than you. I miss the basic sciences in a way, clinicals are sooo much more time consuming.

holding up walls is fun and all but I sure do miss sitting down and reading.

    Class 8-12
    Lunch 12-1
    Class 8-4
    Ten minutes break between classes
Required lab for anatomy is only about twice every 3 weeks due to 3 groups of 10 per cadaver. I always went in every week usually in the evening to keep up.
Use your weekends to catch up.
